Cincinnati Area::Southeast Indiana Event Photographer:: Benefit Walk for Hunter

A couple of weeks ago, we had a benefit walk/auction for baby Hunter and his parents. Here’s how the flyer for the auction read:

“Hunter was born November 22, 2010 with a disorder which is still unknown. He has craniofacial anomalies of the skull and face bones. In short, Hunter has a short bottom jaw, underdeveloped eyes, no ears, cleft lip, and cleft palate. In addition, he has short femur bones and his hips are displaced. Hunter’s short bottom jaw makes it difficult for him to breathe and eat by mouth. He breathes through a tracheal tube that was inserted at birth, and he gets his nutrients through a gastric feeding tube inserted two and a half weeks after birth. Hunter has hearing aids where his ears would be to aid development of his hearing and speech. In the six weeks that Hunter was at Children’s Hospital after birth, doctors performed three surgeries. He has many more surgeries slated over time…”

The walk was an amazing success. The turn out from our little hometown surpassed all of our expectations. As one volunteer said, it isn’t the financial gift that matters as much as being able to physically see the support of the community.
I am sharing this to involve you, my Internet friends, in something beyond important to me. M., the beautiful and amazing mommy to this incredible and sweet boy, has always been the kind of friend I can only long to be. She’s strong in imeasurable ways, and I only hope to be half the mommy she is one day. She has always been a giver, and now’s my time to give back.
If you want to know more, email me. If you want to find a way to get involved (the walk was held two weeks ago, but there’s going to be a need here for a long time), let me know. I love this family so much; I can’t wait to share more pictures from the amazing day.

  • “Waiting is active obedience.” We are in a season of waiting, and if you have ever waited for God to show you something, you know that it’s never a passive waiting. We are waiting and resting in God’s sovereignty. “Your Father knows what you need before you ask Him.” (Matthew 6:8) ♥️
  • Such a fun family session posted today 🍂 there are no words in the post, just pictures... word press updated and it was late when I was working and I was easily confused 🙈😆 what I would have written about is how it rained in a BIG way right before we began shooting, it broke as soon as we began, aaaaand then it picked up with thunder and all the very minute we quit. ⛈ Quite an afternoon, but this group ROCKED and it was so much fun - see more at meaganwhitephoto.com. 👏🏻

  • I know a lot of people are wondering what in the world is happening over here these days. And honestly... I’m not really sure that I know. 😳😂
Here’s what I can tell you: Shane and I have felt a little “off” about a lot of things for a while, including what he’s been doing in his job - there’s nothing “wrong,” he’s just not doing what he is called to do.
We know, without a doubt, that he is an incredible worship leader. But he’s also crazy talented at teaching and sharing the Gospel. So to only be doing maybe half of what he’s capable of has been a little discouraging and draining for him. It’s contrary to what the world says, but when you’re living in your gifting, you’re not “working.” Yeah, it’s for sure hard work, but when it’s what God has clearly called you to, you do it and you’re energized. To be doing something else, even if it’s less work on paper, it’s exhausting, and that’s what’s been happening.
I don’t know if this will make sense to most. Or to anyone, really. To see us stepping out like we are without a clear, step-by-step plan... well, it’s unnerving. But we know it’s right.
There are a lot of little details that are a part of this story, and they all add up to one big answer - the time to pursue something new is now. Do not wait. Do not pass Go, do not collect $200. Get.👊🏻 It.👊🏻 Done.👊🏻 So that’s what we’re doing.
All of this unknown has created a lot of questions about our decision-making abilities and maybe even our sanity 🤷🏼‍♀️😆 our prayer has been and better always be that everything we do brings praise and glory to the One who holds us tightly. And we know that this story will. So, for everyone wondering and praying, please know that we are fully confident and fully trusting, even though there are days when it’s hard. There have been a lot of tears and confusion, but there has also been immense celebration and excitement. And, as a lot of our closest friends have said, if anyone can do this, it’s us. ✨

  • 2018 is the first year since I started Meagan White Photo that I didn’t accept any weddings. Sessions like this are one of many reasons why I haven’t regretted it once. ♥️ Thankful every day.
