This wedding day was THE PERFECT way to kick off 2016. The boss and I are still talking about what a perfectly beautiful and sweet day it was. Mat and Leslie are so in love, and we are so privileged to have had them in front of our cameras – they made our jobs easy.
Which, by the way, is why there are about a bazillion photos in this post. Well, that and I can’t choose because I just love AAAALLLLL the photos SO MUCH. I delivered 550 images to these two, so be thankful I was able to narrow it down from that. : ) Leslie got ready at the Marriott at RiverCenter, and had a stunning view of downtown from her room. And, even for as overcast as this day was, these huge windows let in so much light. Future brides, keep this mind – open windows letting in beautiful light are YUMMY. LESLIE. STOP. You are TOO gorgeous, and it’s too much. Ummm, Leslie’s wedding gown HAD POCKETS! Not to mention, it was absolutely stunning and she was a dream in it. #swoon … BUT POCKETS, PEOPLE… POCKETS. It was terribly muddy (thanks, winter), but the groom and his best man weren’t going to let that get in the way of our bridal portraits (and I’ll forever love them for this). LESLIE!!! You are literally the definition of BREATHTAKING! THIS PHOTO. You guys, I am a stickler for this moment right here. This took place immediately following the ceremony – it was their first chance to be alone all day, and it is absolutely a non-negotiable for all of my couples. Following every ceremony, I grab every couple and run away to a secret room, a hallway, or even a coat closet (yep, been there, done that) – it’s a chance for the brand new newlyweds to breathe, and just be married for a few minutes. And it’s always beautiful. You’d never know that we took these photos outside the Madison on a VERY busy sidewalk in Covington, Kentucky. And “busy” in Covington means plenty of… unique “characters”… haha, I think you can imagine what I’m talking about. I could have stood in the freezing cold and taken photos of these two all night. They are PERFECT. But, alas, on to the party! These father-daughter and mother-son dances just MELT me. DJ Mark McFadden ROCKED this dance floor – I mean that both literally and figuratively! I wouldn’t usually share bouquet/garter toss photos, but these bouquet photos are just so happy! And these garter photos – oh my gosh, I laugh every time I look at them. JUST PICK UP THE GARTER, SCOTT! ; ) Mat and Leslie::
OH MY GOSH. There are no actual words to tell you how thankful we are to have been a part of this day with you. You are two of the absolute best, and we love and are so thankful for you!!
