Louisville Children’s Photographer:: Cincinnati Family Photographer:: Kinsley Turns One

If you’ve spent any time around this blog, you’ll know that these three are familiar faces and very much loved clients. I photographed Ryan and Brittany for their engagement and their wedding, and I had the privilege to photograph Kinsley before her big birthday and again right after. I am completely honored each time they come back to me – they are three of the best, and I’m thankful for them!

This time, we were shooting for sweet Kinsley’s FIRST BIRTHDAY! I don’t know how it is possible since I JUST photographed her newborn photos, but somehow, it has happened.

We photographed our first few photos outside on what we thought was going to be a beautiful March day. However, true to good ol’ Midwestern weather, we went from 80 degrees to 40 degrees in just a few days, and this sweet girl was an icicle just a few minutes in. Thankfully, we had a backup plan, and it ended up working out beautifully, especially since we were all able to warm up a little. :) Happy birthday, Kinsley! It has been such a gift to get to photograph you over this last year! And a big thank you to your sweet parents –  you all are three of my favorites, but I’m pretty sure you know that already. :)

  • “Waiting is active obedience.” We are in a season of waiting, and if you have ever waited for God to show you something, you know that it’s never a passive waiting. We are waiting and resting in God’s sovereignty. “Your Father knows what you need before you ask Him.” (Matthew 6:8) ♥️
  • Such a fun family session posted today 🍂 there are no words in the post, just pictures... word press updated and it was late when I was working and I was easily confused 🙈😆 what I would have written about is how it rained in a BIG way right before we began shooting, it broke as soon as we began, aaaaand then it picked up with thunder and all the very minute we quit. ⛈ Quite an afternoon, but this group ROCKED and it was so much fun - see more at meaganwhitephoto.com. 👏🏻

  • I know a lot of people are wondering what in the world is happening over here these days. And honestly... I’m not really sure that I know. 😳😂
Here’s what I can tell you: Shane and I have felt a little “off” about a lot of things for a while, including what he’s been doing in his job - there’s nothing “wrong,” he’s just not doing what he is called to do.
We know, without a doubt, that he is an incredible worship leader. But he’s also crazy talented at teaching and sharing the Gospel. So to only be doing maybe half of what he’s capable of has been a little discouraging and draining for him. It’s contrary to what the world says, but when you’re living in your gifting, you’re not “working.” Yeah, it’s for sure hard work, but when it’s what God has clearly called you to, you do it and you’re energized. To be doing something else, even if it’s less work on paper, it’s exhausting, and that’s what’s been happening.
I don’t know if this will make sense to most. Or to anyone, really. To see us stepping out like we are without a clear, step-by-step plan... well, it’s unnerving. But we know it’s right.
There are a lot of little details that are a part of this story, and they all add up to one big answer - the time to pursue something new is now. Do not wait. Do not pass Go, do not collect $200. Get.👊🏻 It.👊🏻 Done.👊🏻 So that’s what we’re doing.
All of this unknown has created a lot of questions about our decision-making abilities and maybe even our sanity 🤷🏼‍♀️😆 our prayer has been and better always be that everything we do brings praise and glory to the One who holds us tightly. And we know that this story will. So, for everyone wondering and praying, please know that we are fully confident and fully trusting, even though there are days when it’s hard. There have been a lot of tears and confusion, but there has also been immense celebration and excitement. And, as a lot of our closest friends have said, if anyone can do this, it’s us. ✨

  • 2018 is the first year since I started Meagan White Photo that I didn’t accept any weddings. Sessions like this are one of many reasons why I haven’t regretted it once. ♥️ Thankful every day.
