My kitchen. One of the reasons we chose this home… not that I use if very often. :) Well, that’s not entirely true. It’s my first stop every morning on my way to work. And I am working on cooking more, so we’re slowly getting there.
I’m absolutely about to brag right now because I TOTALLY MADE THAT HANGING SHELF! The boss was out of town, and the lack of anything in front of this window was kiiiiilling me. I went to Ace, guessed at what I might need, came home and put this baby together. Then I proceeded to text my mr. about a billion photos of it to let him know I was becoming the next Bob Vila. I’m just a little proud. :)
So, this photo, plus the photos above, are the “kitchen” side of my kitchen. It is supposed to be an eat-in kitchen, but we have one table, folks. And I don’t really need another for collecting clutter, so I chose to use the other side of the kitchen for sitting (because I do a lot of that) and a little more storage. It’s kind of nice – on the rare occasion I cook, I can have someone hanging out and chatting with me.
Crates and baskets and bowls, oh my.
So, I store tea in this cardboard fruit basket. We have a farmer’s market nearby, and I was collecting these things like crazy this summer. I took most back with me each time I’d go, but this one was brand new and in great condition, so I held on to it for this purpose. Then, I found these, and I felt pretty good about myself and my freebie fruit basket :)
See the dish on the right? (guess where I bought it – DUH, HOBBY LOBBY)
My goal is to display cute baked goods in it. Except, I don’t bake cute baked goods. BUT, when I do, they are going to look great in that dish. :)
So, that’s my kitchen. To the right of the bookshelf is the door to the deck and backyard. It has a doggy door (which you can see above), and I have a doggy who refuses to use it. Whatevs. :)
Anyway, out that door are icicles of death. Have I mentioned I hate winter?
