Adam and Kayla’s @devoupark proposal was absolut Adam and Kayla’s @devoupark proposal was absolutely ✨perfect✨. Adam pulled off the perfect surprise 💍 and their families gathered and celebrated them big.🍾 I was so thankful to get to document it for these two! 🤍
We were hesitant to start her “early”… we di We were hesitant to start her “early”… we didn’t want to push her to begin kindergarten at 4-years old if she wasn’t ready. But, oh, how quickly that concern went out the window. This girl blew us away this year. 🤩 ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I wanted this year to be hands-on and adaptable, so I skipped on buying any formal curriculum. Instead, we just put it all together as we went. She finished the year reading full chapter books, counting money, telling time (on analog clocks, no less), and teaching me so much along the way (do you know *all* the ways you can tell a leopard and a cheetah apart because I do now 🐆🙃😉). ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ It was such a fun year together. It was absolutely challenging and there were a lot of learning curves for each of us. But I am SO thankful I have been given the opportunity to do this with her. And truly, her heart is so kind and gentle, she loves people in the biggest of ways, and she knows Jesus and loves Him most of all. So who cares about the academics. We are so proud of her, but not because she excels in her studies. She knows who she is and Whose she is, and that’s all that matters. 🤍 ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Onward to first grade we go. 🥳

Random, but here we go: In December, Shane's posi Random, but here we go: In December, Shane's position at the church was unexpectedly, suddenly, and immediately eliminated, and it left us spinning. In March, he began his new role, about 45 minutes from our house. His car was excellent on gas mileage... until the engine died two weeks later / we had to borrow my parents' SUV / his commute began to cost HUNDREDS of dollars more a month, so we decided to list our house. It sold in hours, and the chaos began. With three weeks until we handed over the keys, we began furiously packing boxes and searching for a new house on the eastside of Cincinnati. We have been so excited to be at our new church home. Except, it's been impossible to make it "home" - we've been searching for a house for 10 weeks, and we've made 4 offers on 3 houses (each offer was 30k+ over ask!). Every house is *just* out of reach, and it's the most discouraging thing. We are currently living split - Shane spends his week in NKY with very generous friends, and I am at my parents' with our kids, 1.5 hrs from the church community. We've had wonderful people offer us rooms in their homes closer to the church, but the temporary solutions aren't really what we need. We've quickly learned that temporary living isn't sustainable, and we can't wait out this market. We are facing some big decisions as to where we will live (do we build in Rising Sun? do we buy in NKY again?), and it's been hard on all four of us. I'm not writing this to complain. I just want to share this part of our lives. People think we're crazy - people think none of this makes sense. And they're right - without the Gospel, it doesn't make sense. But we've been called to something bigger, and no matter what the enemy throws, we will hold onto the Truth, regardless of our circumstances. We're praying big things right now and doing our best to be patient in the waiting. . . . #thewhitesaremoving #ohmywinnie
